A HEREFORDSHIRE director has been honoured by the Institute of Directors at a presentation ceremony in Edgbaston.
Mike Bound, construction director at Herefordshire oak frame building company Border Oak, has been awarded director of the year in the family business category.
Mike has worked for Border Oak for 25 years and has overseen the construction of more than 1000 projects during this time ranging from extensions in Herefordshire to the construction of entire villages in Japan.
Mike manages a team of more than 150 employees from the Border Oak headquarters at Kingsland, more than dozen of which have worked for Border Oak since the beginning 30 years ago.
John Greene, owner and managing director of Border Oak, said: "I am especially delighted for Mike because this award recognises that great leadership and hard work will be rewarded.
"Mike and I have worked alongside each other for such a long time and on some pretty bizarre projects over the years - but his professionalism, expertise and humour have rarely faltered."
