A PUBLIC consultation is taking place into the proposed Robert Owen Vocational School in Herefordshire.
The Robert Owen Academies Trust is currently holding the consultation into the school which will be for 14 to 19-year-olds and offer a curriculum based on a balance of vocational and academic qualifications, work experience and residential programmes.
Vivien Dean, principal designate of the Robert Owen Vocational School, said: “We believe that vocational education should play an important role in contemporary education and that young people should have the opportunity to study on a vocational route that is held in the same esteem as an academic route.
“We would like to invite people to have their say on our proposals and ask that they visit our website for more information or contact us for a consultation pack.”
The school will open this September and will initially be in temporary accommodation at the former Holme Lacy Primary School before moving to its permanent home at the former Hereford High School for Boys site in Blackfriars Street.
The school will serve a catchment of 35 miles from the city.
The consultation is running from today (Monday May 20) to 5pm on Friday June 28.
