THE Jailhouse will play host to its first ever art exhibition on Wednesday, when local arts collective Spectrum takes over for one night only.

Spectrum is made up a group of young artists living in Herefordshire, many of whom have studied at Hereford College of Arts (HCA), among them Christopher S Joyce, Tom Roberts, Grace Gallagher, John Burrage, and organiser of the exhibition, Jo Marshall, who is now head of local design company Fold Graphics.

An auction will raise money for Art Therapy, based at the Stonebow Unit at Hereford County Hospital.

Local musicians performing on the night include Hannah Davies and Bron Townsend who are joined by Beth Davies and Jake Gamble.

There will also be a live illustration mural, with HCA’s BA (Hons) illustration students encouraging people to bring a pen and get involved.

“We formed the collective to offer a forum for artists to keep in touch with other artists,” said Jo. “We really hope that local people will come along and support their local arts scene.”

The exhibition and auction will take place at The Jailhouse on Wednesday at 8pm. For more information, visit facebook.com/ SpectrumArtsCollective.
