KNIGHTON MARKET - The Knighton food and craft markets, held on the second and fourth Saturdays each month, have a new name and logo. Posters promoting the market now feature a picture of a rather friendly looking sheep laden with bags of shopping.
From this month the market will be known as Knighton Community Market, emphasising its position at the heart of the local community. The sheep logo was specially designed by professional cartoonist Tom Plant, whose work has featured over many years in publications from the Beano and Dandy, to Reader’s Digest and The Oldie, as well as on CBeebies. Tom has strong links with Knighton and when asked to produce a logo knew exactly what was wanted.
Children of all ages were invited to come along to the May markets with their suggestions for a name for the sheep.
