FETE - The annual church fete was held on June 8 in glorious weather on the village green with an almost record gathering of visitors. Highlight of the afternoon was a series of dance performances by the Weobley Aspire Dance Studio directed by Alex Thomas and involving dancers aged from 16 down to nine years. This captivated the audience and earned rapt applause. There was also much interest in a collection of owls displayed by The Hereford Owl Refuge Centre. The newlyrefurbished bells of St Mary’s were rung. More than £1,900 was raised on the day and this could well grow to more than £2,000 with some money still to come in – this would represent the most successful fete in recent years.
Churchwardens George Bray and Tom Hawksley are extremely grateful to all the stall holders, raffle organisers and helpers without whom the fete could not take place, and to all those who supported the event.
