PARISH FETE - Yarpole parish fete opens on June 22, at 1pm at Brook House Farm in the centre of Yarpole. Parking will be off street. Live music by Murray Orpin’s great trio The Alms House Band. No entry fee for school children and there will be lots of games for younger children including a toddler assault course, teddy bear hunt and the amazing ladder game.
Older kids will be challenged by tug-o-war, real assault course, wonky twicycle and backwards bicycling competitions, air-rifle range and much else besides.
Come and watch Kingsland Fire Brigade crash rescue, study a farrier shoeing a horse, discover home cider making. See the photo competition entries, browse new and used bookstalls, be creative with magnetic words, fit your face into fame, yearn at the home made cake baking competition.
Win a raffle, have your meal cooked by professionals in your own home.
Could your pooch win a class in the fun dog show? Can you knock off a coconut? Do you need plants for your garden, and do you really understand composting? Is it possible to guess the weight of a fire engine? Find a classy bargain in the Bircher Boutique, seek treasure in the bric-a-brac stall, see home crafted jewellery, watch an engraver at work.
Food galore from Yarpole community shop stand, pancakes to order, homemade sweets, afternoon tea and cakes, quench your thirst at the licensed bar.
