AT a recent dinner dance, auction and area awards presentation organised by Liz Morgans and Kate Powell of the South Herefordshire Hunt Point to Point Committee, the grand sum of £4,700 was raised for The Injured Jockeys’ Fund.
The event, attended by many past and present members of the Welsh Borders Point to Point area, was held at the Three Counties Hotel, Hereford, with early entertainment provided by local folk singers The Compost Heap.
David Dent and his partner, Eliza, exhibited his paintings and donated an original work for the auction which was conducted by the evening’s master of ceremonies, Guy Lewis.
Rob Hodges, who has finally hung up his racing boots after 18 successful years in the saddle, was presented with an engraved bronze racehorse to recognise his invaluable contribution both locally and nationally to point to pointing.
