RIVERSIDE GARDEN OPEN FOR FIRST TIME - The gardens surrounding Llanarrow, Huntington, near Kington, will be open to the public for the first time on Sunday. It is set in the remote Arrow Valley, between Hay and Kington, famous for its peace and tranquillity, with the exception of thousands of birds using the river for its source of food. The gardens were redesgined six years ago, with emphasis on the views of the River Arrow, which flows around the garden. The gardens contain many unusual named shrubs and perennial plants and have a fine collection of old fashioned roses.
In addition to water features, there is a bog plant area and a cut flower garden. Teas will be served on the terrace, or if weather is inclement, in the converted barn, overlooking the river. Admission £4, children free. This will be in aid of medieval St Thomas à Becket Church, Huntington.
