KINGSLEY James, who enjoyed a loan spell at Edgar Street last season, has been training with the Hereford United squad this morning.
James made 21 appearances for Martin Foyle's side last season after joining up from Port Vale, before returning to Vale Park to see the team earn promotion to League One.
However, he was not offered a new deal and was released as a free agent.
Rob Purdie also joined in with training at Hereford Racecourse after signing for the Bulls as a player-coach.
This will be Purdie's third spell at Edgar Street and he will have the added responsibility of being a fitness guru at the club.
