WITH just days to go until this year’s Homme House Horse Trials on Tuesday and Wednesday, volunteer organisers and the riders are making final preparations.
Once again Homme House has attracted some top international riders who will be competing alongside the 500 or so other entries.
Included in this year’s starting line-up are Olympic riders Vittoria Panizzon, who represents Italy, and ex- Australian team rider Matt Ryan. They are joined by British international team riders Piggy French and Alice Pearson.
The crowd can meet all the riders, watch them compete in the dressage and showjumping and follow them around the cross country course that flows through the picturesque parkland of Homme House.
Public admission is free (though a donation to Midlands Air Ambulance is encouraged) and opens at 9.30am each day. The action continues right through to around 5pm.
There are a range of trade stands and refreshments are available or bring a picnic.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short lead at all times.
Homme House Horse Trials can be found in Much Marcle, off the A449 Ledbury to Rosson Wye road. It will be well signed or look out for the horseboxes, riders and fellow supporters heading for the event.
