QUIZ - The first quiz night of the season will take place tomorrow (Friday). Start time is 8pm prompt. The charge for teams of up to four members is £5. There is a cash prize for the winning team and a special award for the team with the lowest score.
Refreshments are available and teams are welcome to bring their own alcoholic drinks if desired.
RIDE AND STRIDE - This annual event in aid of historic churches and chapels takes place on Saturday. Parishioners from Aymestrey and Leinthall Earls will be taking part in what is usually a leisurely meander around the lanes and churches in the surrounding countryside. Anyone wishing to join will be most welcome, and can be assured that hills and main roads are avoided unless absolutely necessary. It is always a fun day out and helps to raise money for the local churches and also the Historic Churches Trust (who donate money most generously to churches in need).
In recent years the parish’s own churches have benefited from their grants. For more information, call local organiser Meg Thorpe on 780384.
CHURCH - There will be a service at Leinthall Earls on Sunday at 3.30pm FOUND - After the summer fete a chocolate button money box was found. Contact Ken Holland on 01568 770367 to claim it.
PARISH WALK AND LUNCH - Following the success of Aymestrey’s first walking weekend last May, organisers are planning another Sunday lunch walk on September 29. There will be a charge of £8 per walker (including lunch). Anyone interested can call or text Steph on 07971 652341.
