WHIST - A whist drive held recently in Llanbister community hall was well attended. Winners were Helen Hughes, Iona Layton, Janice Davies, Kath Hardwick, Robert Jones, Mabel Evans, Bill Rees, Edith Conway, Mair Jones and Gwyn Morgan. Raffle winners: Kath Hardwick, Jenny Davies, Gwyn Morgan, Edith Conway, Mair Evans and Cath Williams. Olwen Bowen thanked everyone for attending and Gwyn Morgan for being the MC.
Proceeds will go to Llanbister church graveyard fund.
MOTHERS’ UNION - Members of Llanbister MU met in the church for their ‘wave of prayer’ service to remember all their link members abroad. Candles were lit by Pat, Doreen, Betty and Olwen naming the worldwide mothers’ union, the Diocese of Perth and Bundy and many other links abroad. Readings were given by all who were present. Pat Allen read the prayers appointed for the service. Hymns were sung and Olwen Bowen was the organist.
