HERITAGE WEEKEND - On September 6, Bishopswood Village Hall welcomed Richard Wade from Hereford Records Office, who gave a well attended talk on the history of Walford and Bishopswood and the rise and fall of the railway in the area. He also brought census forms for the area which were displayed alongside old photographs of the villages supplied by Mrs M Wilce and Mr D Morgan. Other displays included the histories of both Bishopswood village halls, sale details of the dispersal of the Bishopswood Estate and historical details of Bishopswood WI, which was founded in 1919.
Throughout the following day the village hall was open for people to peruse the documents and photographs and reminiscences were exchanged long into the afternoon by a large number of visitors. Mrs Wilce and Mr Morgan were in attendance and their expertise proved invaluable.
