LINGEN SEWING BEE - Sewing workshops will be held at the village hall by Linda Till. Autumn is coming and it's time to get sewing again. Wednesday mornings from 10am-noon on October 2, 9, 16 and 23. Tea and coffee is provided with machines and an overlocker available for use. Just bring your ideas and enthusiasm - complete beginners and the more experienced welcome. MUSIC AND POETRY - An Arts Alive event at Lingen Village Hall on October 11 at 7.30pm, The Fruit of Paradise is a unique blend of songs, music, poetry and history, celebrating the amazing journey of the apple along the ancient Silk Road, through the golden apples of mythology to modern orchards. Traditional wassails, hints of monastic plainsong, reels with eastern promise and heartfelt ballads embrace the Tien Shan Mountains, Victorian pomologists, cider, Henry VIII, apple crumble and the Isle of Avalon. A PURRRRFECT DAY - There is a ‘make and tell’ craft sewing and story day at Lingen Village Hall on Sunday from 11am-3pm. In the morning you will be able to make a pet flat cat with Julie Llewellyn-Roberts. Then in the afternoon there will be words and stories with Linda Till. The cost for the day is £10 for adults and £4 for children which will include tea/coffee and biscuits. Please bring a packed lunch.
