BONANZA FILM NIGHT - On October 5 at Escleyside Hall there will be four short films/ documentaries about life in the Black Mountains and around the Black Hill. These are: Down from the Black Hill, a 37-minute documentary made for HTV in the 1990s by director Richard Trayler- Smith; Resistance Reimagined, from the novel by Owen Sheers, 19 minutes, director Richard Greatrex; Real Life on the Black Mountains, a 17-minute documentary filmed by Dorothy Howells in the 1960s/70s, director Naomi Vera-Sanso; and Craswall-Lives and Landscapes under the Black Hill, a 20-minute documentary, filmed at the turn of this century, writer Ruth Watkins, director Angela Bennett. There is free entry but donations are accepted, licensed bar, light refreshments and raffles. Doors open 6.45pm, lights down 7.30pm. This is a fund-raiser for Escleyside Hall.
