THE chairman of Powys County Council, County Councillor John Brunt held a reception for the town mayors from across Powys at the local Radnorshire tourist attraction, The Hall at Abbey Cwm Hir.
The dignitaries were given a guided tour of the hall by the owners Paul and Victoria Humperston.
In welcoming the Mayors, Councillor Brunt said that they represented a large number of people from all parts of Powys and he hoped that they would find the meeting helpful in dealing with issues affecting the county at the time.
The towns represented at the event were Builth Wells, Hay on Wye, Llanwryd Wells, Welshpool, Knighton, Llandrindod Wells, Presteigne and Norton, Rhayader, Crickhowell, Talgarth and Newtown. Those attending agreed that it had been a most useful event enabling mayors to discuss common issues and problems.
At the conclusion of the reception, County Councillor John Brunt presented Councillor Roger Bright, the worshipful mayor of Knighton, with a Silver Kite Award in recognition of his long service to the town of Knighton and its community.
