NEW and experienced poets are invited to join 'The Poetry Orchard’ – a poetry workshop with Paul Henry, Herefordshire’s poet-in-residence, on Saturday in the Woolhope Room at Hereford Library.
The workshop will focus on writing in the voices of other people, and will prove especially helpful to those thinking of submitting a poem to Herefordshire’s on-line ‘Poetry Orchard’, which will be launched shortly on the Ledbury Poetry Festival’s website. By the end of the workshop, you should have the beginnings of a new poem.
Paul Henry is the author of nine books of verse. Originally a songwriter, he has read and performed his work at literary festivals across Europe, Asia and the USA. A popular Creative Writing tutor, Henry has lectured at the University of South Wales and led courses at writers’ centres in the UK and France. Also a broadcaster, Paul Henry has written and presented arts programmes for BBC Radio Wales, Radio 3 and Radio 4. Tickets for the workshop, from 1pm to 3pm, are £5, available from Hereford Library. Places are limited so please book.
