HARRY Bucknall walked from St Paul’s Cathedral to the heart of the Eternal City, Saint Peter’s Basilica, along the ancient pilgrim path, the Via Francigena, a jurney that took him through vineyards and villages, towns and cities, and over rivers and mountains.
Harry describes his eventful journey in his new book, Like a Tramp Like a Pilgrim, and he will be giving a talk at Rossiter Books in Ross-on-Wye tonight at 7pm, in which he will share the inspiration behind his journey, and the anecdotes, adventures and mishaps he encountered along the way.
The talk takes place a week before the Sixth Ross Walking Festival, which runs from Friday, September 26 to Sunday, September 28.
To book, call Rossiter Books on 01989 564464 or 01600 775572 or visit rossiterbooks.co.uk. For details of the walking festival, visit rosswalkingfestival.co.uk
