More familiar with perusing antiques on the popular TV shows Bargain Hunt and Flog It, Kate Bliss had different treasures over which to cast her keen eye on Friday 10th October as she “cut the ribbon” to open two new classrooms at Stretton Sugwas Academy.
The ceremony was part of the school’s open day, which allowed parents and visitors the opportunity to see the new build for themselves as well as the reason for it: the ever increasing number of wonderfully happy pupils at Stretton Sugwas. Members of the parish council thanked staff, past and present for helping to create such a vibrant and attractive learning community.
Headteacher, Mr Alex Davies, was delighted to accompany many prospective new parents around the school.
Miss Bliss was able to give her own valuation on the importance of the event, commenting that: “the mark of a great school is that it is growing in size”.
