ACTORS embraced the well known showbiz phrase ‘the show must go on’ and performed last night at The Courtyard- despite having their costumes and props stolen.
The Living Book Theatre Company valiantly carried out two performances of A Christmas Carol at the Hereford theatre last night.
Yesterday at around 11am three boxes of their props and costumes for the show were stolen from outside the back of the theatre.
The company, which is for people with learning disabilities, desperately appealed for their safe return but there was no sign of them before the curtain rose for the first performance.
Marketing officer for The Courtyard, Joanna Lucas said: “The two shows went ahead with a few props we could scramble together here at The Courtyard but in plain clothes.
“The director announced to the audience before the show what had happened so they were very supportive and understanding and the actors really rose to the occasion and delivered two fantastic shows.”
The theft has been reported to the police. If you have any information regarding the theft call police on 101 with the incident number 217 of December 4, 2014.
