CASH-STRAPPED Wye Valley NHS Trust has found £250,000 for a temporary day surgery at Hereford County Hospital.
The temporary surgery, which will operate as an extension of the hospital’s existing day surgery unit for around six months, was supplied and installed by mobile healthcare solutions provider Vanguard Healthcare.
Called the Kenwater Surgical Unit, it caters for patients who can return home on the same day as surgery.
Kenwater can cater for up to nine patients at a time, with additional staffing, and is located, with its own entrance, at the end of the hutted ward corridor.
Patients will still need to report to the day surgery unit reception.
