A WOMAN remains critically ill with 'life-threatening' injuries following an incident at an address in Bobblestock this afternoon.
The woman, in her 50s suffered multiple stab wounds to the head, face and neck.
Another woman in her 30s suffered critical stab injuries. Both were flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham by air ambulance.
Police and ambulance were called the address in Kempton Avenue just after noon today. The address was sealed off for forensic examination soon afterwards. Forensic teams have now left the scene.
Superintendent Sue Thomas, police commander for Herefordshire, said: "We continue our investigations in the house in Kempton Avenue, including searches and forensic examinations.
"I would like to reassure the local community that we believe this to be an isolated incident."
Head teacher at nearby Whitecross High School, Denise Strutt, said staff made sure the school was on lockdown as a precaution until they found out what was happening.
"We have been monitoring the situation and spoke to police to ensure it was safe. We have been assured that it has all been contained," she said.
