TODAY is World Book Day and Hereford Library is celebrating with a special free bounce and rhyme session with Book Start Bear, suitable for babies and toddlers and running from 2.15pm to 2.45pm.
A £1 book token will be given to every child to exchange for a free World Book Day title or to spend on another book.
“We love encouraging young readers and would recommend getting your baby a library card as soon as you can. There are no fines or charges for under 5s and bounce and rhyme sessions are a perfect way to introduce your baby to the world of books and libraries," says librarian Anne-Marie Dossett.
"Children who use libraries are twice as likely to be above average readers, and our event is a fun way to get local children’s imaginations fired up and encourage them to become avid readers."
