INSPIRED by the interaction of body and machine, local artist Kathryn Sassall is showing fa series of paintings inspired by the energy of the ‘Grand Depart of t’Tour’ (Tour de France 2014) in an inaugural solo exhibition at the Timothy Hawkins Gallery in Bartestree.
Chain Reaction runs daily throughout April and features vibrant and colourful framed acrylic paintings which capture a real sense of motion, teamwork and the thrust of competition racing.
Kathryn Sassall’s bold and dynamic brushstrokes and free drawing expressionist style bring you the excitement and the thrill of cycling at speed and she will also be showing some of her other cyclist paintings, including images of a stunt bike rider, mountain bike downhiller and road-racers.
The exhibition area is complemented by the surrounding displays of original mixed-media Art & Craft (almost entirely by professional local artisans) as well as the extraordinary contemporary and traditional wooden furniture created by gallery owner Tim Hawkins for his company, Fine Furniture Ltd.
The gallery opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Saturday, 10am to 5pm and Sunday, 11am to 4pm.
