ANTHROPOLOGISTS Christine and Stephen Hugh-Jones, who have worked with a small tribal group in the Colombian Amazon since 1968, will give a talk on Saturday at the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne. Over the past 45 years, Stephen and Christine and film-maker Brian Moser, also a gifted photographer, have made a unique visual record, firstly on Kodachrome, and latterly on digital media.
Early in 2015, Stephen and Alex Dufort collaborated to transform a selection from this archive into an exhibition of stunning colour prints. Stephen will open the evening at the Assembly Rooms with a talk on the complex relationships between indigenous Amazonians, anthropologists and the media. A Mid Border Arts event.
Tickets for The Colombian Amazon in 45 years of photographs on Saturday at 8pm are available from The Workhouse, Courtyard Antiques or on the door.
