HE was re-elected as North Herefordshire's MP last week by a huge margin, but Bill Wiggin says he doesn't take any votes for granted.
The Conservative received a massive 26,716 votes to keep his seat - almost 20,000 more than nearest challenger UKIP.
He says he is very proud to once again represent "the great county of Herefordshire" and has thanked those who voted for him.
"It was a very long election campaign but almost every person I met whilst out knocking on doors was exceptionally patient and kind, and I think that is a great credit to our county and I was very grateful," he said.
"Of course the campaign gave me the reason to spend so much of my time outside on the doorstep travelling the length and breadth of the beautiful North Herefordshire Constituency meeting so many constituents.
"Despite the title North, the constituency actually covers almost three quarters of the county with many voters, like myself, living quite far south.
"Every election is a humbling experience and this one was no different. I never take anyone or any votes for granted so once again I am grateful for your support."
Mr Wiggin said he will do his best to assist his constituents "regardless of how they voted".
"However rudeness, especially to my staff is never acceptable," he said.
The MP added his delight at fellow Tory Chris Davies winning his seat at neighbouring Brecon & Radnorshire from the Liberal Democrats, before sending his best wishes to Herefordshire's Conservative councillors who were electe to Herefordshire Council.
"So much of our lives and my postbag are related to decisions taken by county councillors, that we must recognise what enormous decisions they take and be grateful that so many tremendous people are willing to give their time to the service of our community," he said.
"There is so much to do so that the next five years will be exciting.
"I am looking forward to working with the government and council to build a better future for our county and country."
