Discover Elgar’s links to the City of Hereford and to the Three Choirs Festival as composer and conductor. Hear about the people and places associated with him, including the story of Dan, the dog which belonged to the cathedral organist, George Robertson Sinclair.

Come and take part in a live recording and learn how it all works with Dan Baker.
Dan studied electro-acoustic music and electronic engineering at Keele University, and started his working life with EMI at their Townhouse Studios.
He played with several bands in London before moving to Birmingham to work as technical manager at DEP studios, the home of UB40. He is now a freelance musician and electronics engineer. Dan has played seven tours of Japan, gigs in France, Spain and Germany, and has been a member of various bands.

The Art of Architecture
Tim Bridges - The author of the books Churches of Worcestershire and Worcester: A Pictorial History, Tim is currently conservation adviser to the Victorian Society. He also works with the Diocese of Hereford Advisory Committee to offer support on maintenance, conservation and repairs, as well as on reordering and improvements.

Music and...the Theremin
Musical instrument designers and developers MortonUnderwood will host an event to explore the beautiful, haunting and intriguing music produced by the theremin - an early electronic instrument that is played without being touched by the musician. They will explore the timbre of the sound produced by the theremin, which is famously often mistaken for other instruments and even the human voice. They will bring a theremin along to demonstrate how it works and you can even have a go yourself!
