ANYONE looking to take up a pew in the Golden Valley should read on.
Pretty Llanrosser Methodist Church in Michaelchurch Escley, which has been unused since its last service there in 2011, could be turned into a three-bedroom home.
Change of use plans have been submitted to Herefordshire Council by Elwyn Maddy.
The chapel dates back to 1886 and used to attract worshippers from a wide catchment area.
However, attendance gradually declined, so much so that in the two years before it closed in 2011 there was just one regular member of the congregation.
The nearest Methodist chapel to this site is Upper Mascoed, with villages including Peterchurch, Dorstone, Craswall and Cusop all having churches within a five mile radius of Llanrosser Methodist.
The applicant says the appearance of the original building will be largely unaltered by the proposals.
