A HEREFORDSHIRE landlady will be moonwalking in the capital on May 19 as she raises money for breast cancer research.
Evelyn McNeil, in charge at the England's Gate pub in Bodenham, will begin the 13 mile trek around Hyde Park at midnight, safe in the knowledge she has raised around £500.
And if the thought of walking around a London park in the dead of night concerns people, they need not worry as she will joined by around 15,000 fellow fundraisers.
"I'm really looking forward to it," said Evelyn, aged 51.
"The training has gone well. I have put notices up in the pub and a lot of people have been really supportive and sponsored me."
The moonwalk is organised by Walk the Walk - a grant making charity raising money for breast cancer research and cancer care.
Raising money for cancer charities is not unusual to Evelyn. She has run the Race For Life at Hereford Racecourse in the past and her determination is obviously rubbing off on husband Peter who has caught the fundraising bug.
"The day after I complete the moonwalk, Peter will be cycling with other fundraisers from Wembley Stadium to La Manga as part of BOOBS - Boys Out On Bikes," Evelyn added.
"This is also to raise money for breast cancer research."
The pair are still looking for sponsors for either event. Anyone interested can ring 01568 797286.
