TWO teams from Herefordshire have been invited to take part in this year's British Dressage Senior Inter Regional Squad Competition at Keysoe, Bedfordshire, on May 26-27.
The teams, handpicked by Judith Harris, Phillip Woof and Debbie Watson (team manager), will be representing the North-West region in the two-day competition held at Bedford College Equestrian Centre.
The competition, organised by British Dressage, will see the best of the best compete in a number of individual and team activities to become the winner of the annual coveted Senior Inter Regional Squad Award.
The Herefordshire based teams are being trained by Phillip Woof, renowned trainer and competitor at national level, who said: "Riding in a national competition can be rewarding but very hard work. Each team member has responded well to instruction and we are ready to take on the challenge."
The teams are also supported by North-West regional chairman Judith Harris, who said: "We are proud to be able to enter two teams from the North-West region into this year's competition.
"Each member has been specially selected and supported by an excellent back-up team and had the opportunity to use the superb facilities offered by Bromyard Equestrian Centre. We are looking forward to a successful competition and to really put Hereford on the map."
Bromyard Equestrian Centre owners David Evans and Vicki Leighton-Evans added: "We are delighted to be able to sponsor two local teams as they take part in such a prestigious competition. Each team member has regularly trained on our unique aqua ground system which is an ideal proving ground for competition use. We wish them all the best as they compete."
In addition both teams are also being sponsored by two local firms, Probate Services Ltd and BIR Building Company.
Team members are Sue Holloway, Vanessa Lee, Adie Sinclair-Folly, Tony Watson, Niki Allton, Lorna McGowan, Emma Leitch, David Evans, Faye Galloway , Phillip Woof, Judith Harris, Debbie Watson and Vicki Leighton-Evans.
