CHARITY fundraisers will be scaling the walls of a county castle this Sunday to raise money for the children's hospice, Acorns.
The charity has organised an abseil down the north west tower of the 19th century Eastnor Castle in Ledbury.
Sophie James, community fundraiser at Acorns, said: "There are about 70 people taking part but we have spaces available if more people would like to get involved."
Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100 and the event is being sponsored by Wyre Forest and Queenswood branches of the Foresters who will be holding a grand tombola on the day to raise more funds.
The Hereford Times has a team taking part which includes Cynthia Spaull, Hereford City Centre manager, Bobbie Heavens, managing director of APH, Hereford Times sales representative Kay Parker, and Tracey Smith, company secretary at Elite Bathrooms.
Sophie added: "We wanted to do an event which was exciting to the area. We're hoping that it will be a good day to bring picnics and enjoy the castle grounds while raising money for this worthwhile cause."
The day starts at 10am and is expected to finish by 5pm, and to register to take part call 01386 554848.
