MANY would agree that college can be a difficult time in a teenager's life, with the stress of exams, trying to pass your driving test and choosing the right university.
But Felix Leech, a 17-year-old student at Hereford Sixth Form College, has another obstacle approaching as he tackles the St Michael's Hospice half-marathon on Sunday.
Felix's dad died in January and although not the reason for running the race, he believes it will spur him on.
"I applied before dad passed away but his death will give me an extra determination to complete the run," said Felix, who lives near Canon Pyon.
Anyone who wants to sponsor Felix can call him on 01432 830185.
Almost 500 fund-raisers are expected for the event, which starts at 11am from Hereford Leisure Centre. A group of county police officers will also be "on the run" at the event. They will be joined by members of their families to raise awareness of a special cause. Together, the team will run the half-marathon in relays or all in one go to put the charity Child Victims of Crime in the spotlight.
