HOLLOWAYS of Suckley have won two prestigious awards at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London, one for their display of garden antiques in a courtyard setting and one for the interior design of a conservatory.

Edward Holloway created a small courtyard idyll with carved stone statues, a Georgian sundial and curved wrought-iron bench starring amongst his garden antiques, which were displayed amongst sympathetic planting in hues of purple and grey.

These examples of our countryside heritage are much appreciated by the London audience at Chelsea and the stand was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the RHS judges.

For the third year running Holloways joined forces with Hampton Conservatories, and designed the interior of their distinctive hardwood conservatory, specially built for the show.

The award they received, a Certificate of Commendation, is the second highest possible for this type of entry. "We can't believe our success," said Diana Holloway. "We all put such an effort into the conservatory, featuring our much-loved English Willow furniture, and it has paid off."

This was a truly local effort - the garden around the conservatory was executed by Sam Orgee and Peter Fletcher from S&P Garden Designs of Suckley, the plants, both inside and out, were supplied by Caroline Orgee of Lower Court Nurseries in Suckley, while the floral arrangements inside were provided by Shane Connelly Flowers of London (and Clifton on Teme).
