THE 2007 Leominster Festival brings together a variety of artistes each providing a different ingredient in the mix that is the festival.
There is something here to suit most tastes - from jazz with Simon Deeley to the massed sound of the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra, from the cultured tones of Brian Sewell to the familiar voice of Barry Norman, whose performance takes place on Friday, June 9 (not as in the booklet Thursday, June 7).
Leominster Choral Society performs works by Kodaly, Lucas and Dvorak, while More Tea, Vicar?, a frolic through Betjeman's England, can be seen on Thursday, June 7 (not Friday, June 8).
Putting on the Ritz by The Reduced Palm Court Orchestra, Zum featuring gypsy and tango music and an evening of Mozart opera by Mozartissimo are other events which will appeal.
Lunchtime performances include a recital for two violas with David Hatcher and Jessica Marshall Horsley but the festival regrets that the organ recital by Martin Hall has had to be cancelled due to the organ having been severely damaged by water from the leaking Priory roof.
The box office in the Buttercross, Leominster, on 01568 611190, is now open, or visit the festival website on www.leominster-festival.co.uk for more information.
