A MAN has been arrested after chaining himself to machinery in protest at the building of the Rotherwas Access Road.
He was charged with aggravated trespass after he and around 20 other protesters showed their objection to the project which will link the A49 road from Hereford to Ross, with the Rotherwas Industrial Estate.
Speaking after the protest, Councillor Roger Phillips said: "The small number of protesters are out of step with the wishes and needs of the majority of people who live and work in Hereford, where there has long been an understanding that a flood-free route is essential if we are to safeguard business growth and jobs in the city."
