JACKIE Tweedale who lives in Brooms Green offered a 'a big thank you' to The Shop at Bromsberrow for hosting The Moment Centenary Project recent daffodil workshop. The morning of modelling the flowers proved more successful than had been anticipated attracting 32 people making 30 daffodils to add to the historic 'daffodil field'. The youngest participant being four years old.
Organiser Jackie Tweedale said "There was a really good atmosphere, where everyone was excited to know that their flower would be part of the forthcoming project event. "Positive feedback and comments proved that the experience was so enjoyable that requests were made for another workshop to be held".
Jackie went on to thank Sarah Williams from Eastnor Pottery who gave valuable instruction and will complete the daffodils at Eastnor in preparation for the First World War commemorations.
It all proved to be thirsty work and refreshments were served, friendships forged, with an extra benefit of the many purchases made from the local community shop.
Jackie explained "The Moment Centenary Project is aiming to celebrate the history of the area during the years 1914 to 1918 and we would love to hear your family memories of that time, collate a history of local events and people and gather them together. As a part of this the daffodil project was created to remember those who lost their lives in the First World War and to celebrate the heritage of our area. On two dates in March we will be displaying all the daffodils that you have made - March 19 at Kempley (at the church or by the memorial on Kempley Green), and March 26 at Dymock on Wintours Green".
