VILLAGERS who were left without a pub when their local closed for redevelopment two years ago are creating their own this weekend.
Residents of Lyonshall have been left without a drinking hole since the Royal George Inn closed.
Instead of waiting for it to re-open they have chosen to open their own pop-up pub on Saturday night between 7pm and midnight at the Lyonshall Memorial Hall.
Councillor Jean Howard, Vice Chairman of the Lyonshall Parish Council said that the event will allow people to have a drink and chat
She said: "Our pub has been closed since developers brought it two years ago and they haven't done anything with it yet.
"This will just be a pub where people can have a drink and a chat. If it's popular then we will do it again but it's difficult to gauge.
"We're going to tart the hall up a bit and make it look like a pub."
The hall will be converted into a pub with the help of Behind Bars mobile bar who will be supplying a range of ales, cider, lager and wines.
