ONE of Hereford's most stylish nightspots has reopened with a flourish following five months of refurbishment.
Saxtys, which markets itself as a pub, champagne bar, restaurant and nightclub, threw open its doors recently to reveal a new interior that includes specially designed bespoke furniture, made by the same company that supplies such luminaries as London's Ministry of Sound.
"The first weekend following our re-opening was amazing," said general manager Tanya Ratcliff.
"We were absolutely packed which must have been through word of mouth because we had not advertised it," she said.
Already well established as a popular place for night owls, the management at the Widemarsh Street venue now hope to broaden its appeal.
"Our main aim now is the food side of things," added Tanya.
"We have a new chef, Mickey Osedo, on board and a fantastic new menu which I am sure will prove popular.
"We are not just a pub anymore. Saxtys wanted to move away from the usual pub menu and try something a bit different and we think there is a market for that at the moment in Hereford," she said.
