A RARE glimpse of one of the most stunning naturally occurring phenomenon was caught on camera over the Herefordshire night sky.
Andy Hardiman took these stunning photographs of the Aurora Borealis – better known as the Northern Lights – over Kilpeck last week.
He said: "It was just amazing to see it. I went to Sweden to see it a few months back and have been addicted ever since.
"A friend of mine posted that they could see it in Lancashire so I thought I would have a look."
Mr Hardiman used a DSLR camera to capture the photographs between 11am and 3am on March 6.
He also captured the star trail on the same evening – showing the motion of stars in the night sky due to the rotation of the Earth.
The Northern Lights, which are one of the seven wonders of the natural world, are most often seen in Scandinavia, Iceland and parts of Canada.
"It's kind of one of those things when you see and experience it you can almost imagine why the Vikings were so superstitious," added Mr Hardiman.
