ORGANISERS of an event which promises to make Father's Day one to remember have pledged that all proceeds will be given to Acorns Children's Hospice.
The Broomy Hill Father's Day Event is a joint project between the City of Hereford Rotary Club, Hereford Society of Model Engineers (HSME) and Hereford Waterworks Museum (HWM), and takes place on Sunday, June 17.
HSME has agreed to give visitors unlimited' rides on their miniature steam trains and HWM has its historic engines working and in steam.
The Rotary Club has arranged for many other attractions to be at the event, including Hereford Concert Band, Professor Joe's Punch and Judy show, a stationary engine display, a vintage car rally by Dr Richard Donovan, and face-painting by pupils from Whitecross School.
Refreshments will be available in HWM's new visitor centre, and car parking is courtesy of the Cathedral School.
The former Mayor of Hereford, Robert Preece, will be in attendance as the Mayor's representative, having chosen Acorns as his charity when in office.
Meanwhile, on June 10 at 2pm, Bernadette Kearney from BBC Midlands Today will officially open new facilities at Broomy Hill including a station canopy and carriage shed. This great tourist attraction now has the appearance of a railway station as it might have been in the days of The Great Western Railway some 60 years ago.
