ETHEL the wandering Tortoise has done it again - and her owner is finding it impossible to track her down.

The adventurous animal has, in the past, been found upside down on a cattle grid and trying to negotiate a busy main road, but now owner Suzanne Jeavons-Huthston is worried that, not having seen her for over two weeks, Ethel could be practically anywhere.

Suzanne said: "My mum Jean was the last to see her, she was in the garden and realised she could no longer see Ethel, but was too late to see in which direction she had gone. Now the Postman and all the neighbours are keeping an eye out for her. She has grown big and strong and could be anywhere by now".

Suzanne was bought the Tortoise from a pet shop in stroud when she was a little girl, and named her Ethel after her grandmother, she says the whole family are hoping for their pet's safe return.

"I've had her for the best part of 38 years, and it is very sad that she has run away, the family are all so happy each year when she comes out of hibernation and would be delighted to see her again now", she said.
