A FAMILY is hoping to raise enough money for a scan to find out why their new dog continues to suffer fits.
Hugh and Holly Pawsey bought a puppy called Wednesday two weeks before Christmas.
Mrs Pawsey gave birth to their daughter, Poppy, three months ago and they wanted them to grow up together.
But on the day they brought the puppy home to Bobblestock Wednesday started to have seizures.
Mrs Pawsey, 25, said: "After months of going to the vets she became really ill after having a fit on Easter Monday.
"I took her to a new vets which have shown that she has a rare condition called neurological oedema which has caused her lungs to fill with fluid."
Mrs Pawsey said Wednesday is on medication but a CT scan is needed to determine if she has a brain abnormality caused by birth or a trauma to the head.
She added: "We've already spent our savings on treatment over the last few months and the final scan is £1,000 which we can't afford but she really needs it."
Mr Pawsey, 30, is a lab coordinator and also has a six-year-old son called Dylan.
They could not get pet insurance due to Wednesday's fits starting within 12 hours of getting her.
