A CLEHONGER resident has raised concerns about junk mail which encourages people to buy products to win a cash prize.
John Osborne received the letter from Vital Nature which tells him he is the grand winner of £44,572.58.
The letter says he must reply confirming his details and telephone number.
It also says that to receive his prize quicker he should place an order for a product in the attached catalogue and pay by card.
Mr Osborne wanted to raise awareness as he feared someone might respond to the junk mail.
BBC Inside Out has mentioned Vital Nature in a programme about scam mail, where the prize unsurprisingly never arrives.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: "People who want to make us aware of potentially fraudulent mail, so that we can then work with the relevant authorities to investigate and take action, can write to Royal Mail at Freepost Scam Mail or email scam.mail@royalmail.com.
"Alternatively, you can contact Citizens Advice consumer service by calling 03454 040506, writing to Citizens Advice consumer service, Post Point 24, Town Hall, Walliscote Grove Road, Weston super Mare, North Somerset, BS23 1UJ or by completing an online form here: https://forms.adviceguide.org.uk/complaint_post.aspx."
