BRIGHTWELLLS are pleased to report a decent trade on an outstanding show of spring lambs at Hay-on-Wye on April 21.
Although slightly less than recent weeks, prices showed an increase on the previous day, with the majority sold between £85 and £90 to a top of £92 (41 ½ kg) from Gordon Price, Sheephouse with the same vendor at £91 (41 ½ kg), John Lloyd, Pistyll at £91 and £90, Nantyglasdwr and Messrs Lloyd at £90 (41 ½ kg and 41kg).
Top price per kilo was Rob Jones, Lower Argoed at 226p, with the Watkins family, Caenantmelyn at 225.6 (39kg £88) and Gordon Price next at 221.7 (41 ½ kg £92).
Several hoggetts forward with a top of £76 from Frank Taylor, The Derry with others at £72, £71 and £70.
