A HEREFORD bride-to-be got an unexpected wedding present when she dropped in to a local store.
Hayley Barrel was in Ernest Jones in Trinity Square, Hereford, when she was invited to take part in the Leo Diamond Challenge, a national competition in which customers are asked to pick which of two rings contained the Leo diamond.
Assistant manager Louise Herbosa said: "Hayley chose the right one and as a thank you for taking part, she received a chocolate. These always include a prize, which could be a 10% off voucher for Leo products or a Leo diamond ring worth £6,000. Hayley won a Leo pendant worth £2,350, one of only 12 in the country."
Hayley said: "I had only gone in there to buy my wedding ring. Some people I know had entered the competition and told me to go for it. So I did and just picked the ring that sparkled the most."
Hayley marries George Delaney on August 10 at the Graftonbury Hotel in Hereford.
