BURGOYNES, of Lyonshall, the marquee hire and transport specialists, didn't have to go very far to find its new chief executive.

Malcolm Thompson, aged 40, lives in Lyonshall with his family and joins family business Burgoynes from CDE, Ireland, where he was UK sales manager.

Previously, he spent 10 years working for Anglo American companies Nash Rocks and Tarmac. Throughout his career, he has successfully developed a very broad experience in senior management skills.

Burgoynes chairman, Andrew Burgoyne, said: "We are delighted to welcome Malcolm to our company. We have been searching all over the country for the person with the right qualities and have found him on our doorstep.

"We are pleased that Malcolm will be able to build on the strength of our company and staff."

Mr Thompson said: "I am very honoured to be offered the position of chief executive at Burgoynes - a family business committed to the highest standards of customer care and service. I'm really enjoying working with everyone at the company."
