around 2,000 women will take part in the Race for Life next month to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Sarah Cook, who works for Costa Coffee in Hereford, is planning to walk the event in memory of her late father-in-law, Ron Cook.
Ron was a popular member of the community in Leominster, where he ran the Queens Head pub with his wife Rene. He was also known throughout the county for his love of fishing.
Sarah has worked out that she regularly walks over 12,000 steps a day working in the coffee shop, and hopes this will stand her in good stead for the five kilometres she'll walk around Hereford Racecourse.
She is hoping to raise £500 to help the charity's research into cancer treatments. To sponsor her, visit www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/sarahcookcosta
