A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a road traffic collision near Burley Gate yesterday afternoon.

The collision involving a volkswagon car with two occupants, and a livestock vehicle carrying a horse, took place on the A465, Hereford to Bromyard road at around 3.40pm.

The driver of the car was trapped in his vehicle and had to be released by fire crews from Bromyard and Hereford, which took about 20 minutes.

He was then taken by air ambulance to Selly Oak hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.

The horse was not injured during the incident.
