"MUSIC can change the world," said Beethoven.

At Barrs Court School, they're hoping that the Hydrosense Music Making week will contribute to changing theirs.

The week has been organised to help raise funds towards the building of an interactive performing arts studio, and the organisers are hoping that local musicians, schools, colleges and community groups will rally round to make music and raise cash to help the school reach its £1 million pound target for the studio and a new hydrotherapy pool.

Music lovers are invited to contribute by organising a sponsored musicathon, giving a public musical performance, having a sponsored practice session, a karaoke evening, X-Factor-style event or anything else on a musical theme.

Musical events can be organised for any day or evening during the week, which runs from September 17-22.

To show willing, Barrs Court headteacher - and Hydrosense appeal chairman - Richard Aird will join forces with singer songwriter Manu Song as The Bootleg Bards for an eclectic evening of acoustic music at Barrs Court.

Anyone who would like to join in the fun and make music for Hydrosense, can call Mr Aird on 01432 265035 or email raird@barrscourt.hereford.sch.uk Once confirmed, your event will be included in the Hydrosense Music Making Week programme, which will be distributed locally.
