HEREFORDSHIRE'S Wye Valley Brewery has seen sales of its cask ales rise so rapidly in the last 12 months that demand has almost outstripped supply.

In order to cope with unprecedented growth, large investments have been made to boost production capacity by over 50%. This includes three new vessels from Belgium, a new cask racking (filling) system and refrigerated loading bay.

Wye Valley Brewery is now in its 22nd year of trading and employs 25 people locally. It was founded by former Guinness brewer Peter Amor and is now run by Peter's son, Vernon.

Vernon Amor, Managing Director, said: "We are way ahead of our sales budgets so far this year. Our improved and expanded brewing equipment has been installed just in time for what is expected to be our busiest summer ever."
